Al-Marsad Daily – SPA: His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Energy, stated that the Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco) managed – thank God – to discover two natural gas fields not conventional in the eastern region, where the “Awtad” field of unconventional natural gas was discovered southwest of the Ghawar field, 142 kilometers southwest of the city of Hofuf, after the gas flowed from the well (Awtad- 108001) at a rate of (10) million standard cubic feet per day and (740) barrels of condensate. Gas flowed from the well (Awtad-100921) at a rate of (16.9) million standard cubic feet per day and (165) barrels of condensate. Similarly, “Al-Dahna” unconventional natural gas field was discovered 230 kilometers southwest of Dhahran city, after the gas flowed out from the well (Al-Dahna-4) at a rate of ( 8.1) million standard cubic feet per day and the gas flowed from the well ( Al-Dahna-370100) at a rate of (17.5) million standard cubic feet per day and (362) barrels of condensate.
His Highness emphasized the importance of these discoveries in strengthening the Kingdom’s natural gas reserves, which helps support the Kingdom’s strategies and achieve the objectives of the liquid fuel replacement program.
His Highness the Minister of Energy concluded his statement by praising God and thanking Him for the abundant bounty bestowed upon this honorable country, asking Almighty God to preserve the Keeper of the Two Holy Mosques and his loyal Crown Prince, and to perpetuate the security, safety, stability and prosperity for our homeland.
