Enceladus: Massive Water Vapor Plume Detected by James Webb Space Telescope

When talking about the possibility of life on other bodies in the Solar System, enceladus is always one of the main candidates, since the scientific community believes that, underneath the icy crust, there is a global ocean of water, probably salty. Now, thanks to the James Webb Space Telescope, a group of researchers has managed to detect on this moon of Saturn a gigantic plume of water vapor, expelled by geysers at the south pole and with a truly astronomical size – almost 10 thousand kilometers long. The conclusions and observational data were published in the journal “Nature Astronomy”.
