Peru passed the 20,000 coronavirus death mark on Tuesday as the epidemic resurfaces a month after the start of gradual deconfinement in the country.

The number of cured patients is also up to 302,457 (+4,366), but Peruvian hospitals are nonetheless saturated with a record 13,798 sick with the virus.
The number of deaths from the virus is the subject of controversy in this Andean country of 33 million inhabitants, the local press estimating that their number would be closer to 50,000 if the suspected cases were included.
Peru is the third Latin American country most affected by the epidemic behind Brazil and Mexico.

7:30 p.m. | Disney, hit by the pandemic, puts the package on streaming
Thanks to the pandemic, Disney has found the chosen one of its heart: direct streaming of content to consumers, already a priority before the health crisis, is now the subject of all its attentions.
The Disney + platform, which reached 60.5 million subscribers on Monday, will host the film “Mulan” exclusively for now, after its theatrical release has been repeatedly delayed and now postponed indefinitely.
The service reached its minimum target in terms of subscribers 4 years ahead of schedule.
In all, Disney now has 100 million paying subscribers for its platforms (Disney +, ESPN + and Hulu), thanks to its abundant catalogs and the Star Wars universe, but also to the great confinement.
