The Municipal Company of Urban Environment of Gijón start a Comprehensive neighborhood cleaning plan. It will continue throughout the year acting weekly in the up 49 zones in which the city has been divided. The plan responds to citizen demand, especially in the western area to which reinforcements had already been assigned for cleaning, due to its problems with contamination. It also has a awareness objective.
Plan that started already last week and is already operating in one of the areas in which the Llano neighborhood has been divided. For a week, from Monday to Saturday, about twenty municipal company operators will work accompanied by a dozen machines of different types, conducting an in-depth review of the usual cleaning tasks and detailing the Emulsa Alfonso Baragaño manager.
To this we must add container washing, but also the painting of furniture, revision of children’s games and actions typical of parks and gardens such as mowing or weed removal. Besides the expansion of the six operators a pickling machine and a sweeper have been purchased.
The objective of these special cleaning plans is also to create a visual effect among the neighbors when they see the entire crew performing tasks that are splashed daily as a tool to achieve their civic commitment.
