Employees 100% tired of teleworking

A new health protocol enters into force Thursday January 7th. In particular, it provides that employees employed on teleworking stations 100% can ask to come back one day per week on site. The opinion of the president of the CFTC, Cyril Chabanier.

Employees working at 100% telework will be able to ask to come back on site for a day. Your reaction ?

This is a good measure, which appears in the health protocol which comes into force on Thursday. At the CFTC, we are in favor of teleworking. But more and more employees are expressing their suffering and their isolation. It is very difficult to be teleworking in a small accommodation. A face-to-face day seems a good compromise, as long as you organize yourself so that everyone does not come on the same day.

But what if the employer refuses?

You actually need the employer’s agreement. But many are in favor of this face-to-face return.

To the point of sometimes refusing teleworking?

Yes, it happens too. We were alerted to the case of a printing plant in Hauts-de-France where the design department was teleworking during the first confinement. And 100% face-to-face during the second. Some business leaders still have reservations about teleworking.

So should we make the health protocol mandatory?

This remains a set of recommendations. But it does not seem logical to include provisional measures in the law.

And the inter-professional agreement on teleworking?

We signed it a few weeks ago. There was talk of being able to negotiate the number of days of teleworking in each company from January 20. But the Minister of Labor, Élisabeth Borne, seems to postpone the date. The figures for the epidemic are worse than expected. Teleworking 100% everywhere should continue.
