After slaughter, the cadavers are destroyed. Many of the animals now suffer from digestive problems.

The ship Karim Allah had left Cartagena on December 18 for the port of the Turkish Iskenderun. The cattle could not disembark there, because there was a suspicion of the cattle disease bluetongue, which is transmitted by mosquitoes. The ship then had to return to Spain. But the animals were not welcome there either.

Because the cows are now entering the country from outside the EU again, they cannot be sold. That is why the Spanish court has decided to carry out an emergency slaughter. The owners tried to sell the cattle on their way from Turkey to Libya and a few other countries, but that was also stopped there.
