Embraer profitable for the first time in three years

Embraer has been loss-making for so long, in part because a lot of money was invested in Boeing’s failed takeover of the commercial aircraft division. This was followed by the corona crisis from the beginning of last year, with a huge impact on the aviation sector.

Orders and deliveries
The Brazilians delivered 14 commercial aircraft and 20 business jets in the past quarter. For the whole of 2021, Embraer expects to deliver between 45 and 50 commercial aircraft, of which 7 are E195-E2s for KLM Cityhopper, and 90 to 95 business jets.

In terms of orders, a large order from Porter Airlines was the highlight. Canadian regional airline ordered 30 E195-E2s to to expand considerably. In addition, Embraer received orders for 18 E175s, of which 9 by Horizon Air and 9 by SkyWest.
