EMA driver: link between AstraZeneca vaccine and thrombosis | Inland

AMSTERDAM – Indeed, there is a link between AstraZeneca’s corona vaccine and the rare combination of blood clots (thrombosis) and low platelet count (thrombocytopenia) that a few dozen people contracted after vaccination. But the benefits of the vaccine still outweigh the risks, Marco Cavaleri, head of vaccination strategy at the European Medicines Agency (EMA), told Italian media on Tuesday.
