Lisa Marie Presley, the 54-year-old daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, was rushed to hospital on Thursday. She later died there, reports the BBC. The singer may have had a cardiac arrest.
Her mother Priscilla writes “with a heavy heart to share the terrible news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us”.
Rescuers resuscitated Presley Thursday at her home in the town of Calabasas, next to Los Angeles, entertainment website reported TMZ earlier in the day. Before she was rushed to hospital, her heart is said to have started beating again.
Presley attended the Golden Globes on Tuesday. There she and her mother saw how actor Austin Butler won awards for his role as Elvis in the film Elvis.
In the 1990s, Presley was married to Michael Jackson for some time.
