KOMPAS. com – CEO Tesla Elon Musk I will test a wireless brain chip Neural connection in humans over the next six months.
According to Musk, the chip will allow disabled patients to move and communicate again, quoted by Reuters.
Based in the San Francisco Bay Area and Austin, Texas, Neuralink has been conducting animal tests for approval by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the past few years to initiate clinical trials in humans.
“We want to be very careful and sure it will work properly before we put the device into humans,” Musk said in a presentation at Neuralink headquarters on Wednesday (11/30/2022).

Restore muscle movement
The first two human applications targeted by the Neuralink device will restore vision and enable muscle movement in people who are unable to.
“Even if someone has never had sight, like if they were born blind, we believe we can still restore sight,” he said.
The event was originally scheduled for October 31, 2022, but Musk abruptly postponed it without giving a reason.
Neuralink’s last public presentation, just over a year ago, involved a monkey with a brain chip playing a thinking video game by itself.
The new owner of Twitter is known for his ambitions like colonizing Mars and saving humanity.

His ambitions for Neuralink, which he launched in 2016, are just as grand.
He wanted to develop a chip that would allow the brain to control complex electronic devices.
The device is expected to help paralyzed people regain motor function and treat brain diseases, such as Parkinson’s disease, dementia and Alzheimer’s.
Musk approached rival Synchron earlier this year about a potential investment in the same field.
Synchron reached a major milestone in July by implanting its device into a patient in the United States for the first time.
They received US regulatory clearance for human trials in 2021 and completed studies on four people in Australia.
