Eloise tells the magazine that she is crazy about fashion, but that comfort is most important to her. “You can pretty much picture me in baggy jeans, a big sweater, Dr. Martens or Nike Air Jordans and a shoulder bag. And jewelry! Without jewelry, I feel naked.” Yet Eloise does not have expensive items around her neck. “I don’t save and invest in an expensive designer piece. I’m still a bit too young for that,” she says.

That does not mean that certain pieces of jewelry have no special meaning. For example, Eloise is honest about a particular necklace with a pearl pendant that is very dear to her, because she got it from her godfather Prince Friso when she was baptized. “I will never finish it”, she says about this.
She also wears the gold ring with sapphire and diamonds that she received from grandma Beatrix every day. “All her granddaughters get a ring from her on their twelfth birthday. I remember waking up in the middle of the night and finding my father trying to put the ring on my finger. He thought: that’s nice, then she’ll be on. her birthday as a surprise woke up with that ring on. I just thought: let me sleep! “

Milestones are more often celebrated with jewelry at the House of Orange. For example, after her graduation Eloise received a Cartier watch from her parents. “That watch is of course very special to me, but the moment it is linked to – my final exam and that nice afternoon with my parents – is just as precious to me as a memory.
