Ellen did not start about the infamous kiss herself, but presenter Philip Freriks asked her about it. Mark Rutte was kissed by her during a performance, when he was already Prime Minister of our country. Ellen sang the song ‘Feeling Good’ at the time. “The song was about ‘feel free and happy’. I had to walk by there and I thought this fit perfectly with that song. It was a spontaneous action.”

By the way, it didn’t just stop at a kiss, because Ellen spoke to Rutte for a while afterwards. She really liked him. “I think he liked the action.”
