Agnès Pannier-Runacher also indicated that the government would “amplify” its financial support for the sector – which generates 230,000 jobs and nearly 565 billion euros in turnover in France – to “promote” relocation. “We have a duty to locate the productions of the future in our country with two ambitions: technological mastery and knowing how to produce what is essential, especially at certain critical moments. It is a question of French and European sovereignty”, a- she said, alluding to the global semiconductor shortage that is shutting down many auto factories.

The minister believes that the objectives of the Nano 2022 plan have enabled electronics companies to manage the semiconductor crisis “more comfortably” and to go through this “situation of shortage in a protected manner”. “The technological quarter of an hour in advance that we have been able to build, we must keep it. Agnès Pannier-Runacher announced state support for 22 new relocation projects in France in the electronics sector. In total, 23 million euros will be financed by the State out of the 76 million euros of industrial investments committed. “Since September, more than 35 production relocation projects have been selected for 180 million euros of industrial investment and 50 million euros of state aid,” she said. adding “to be able to count on an additional tranche of 100 to 200 million euros on the only calls for relocation projects”.
