ELECTIONS JULY 5 – Leonel will propose to the Board that men and women vote at separate times to avoid crowds

The presidential candidate for the People’s Force, Leonel Fernández, will propose to the Central Electoral Board (JCE) that for the congressional and presidential elections of July 5, men vote in the morning and women in the afternoon, to avoid the agglomeration of people in the face of the coronavirus situation in the country.

In a press conference held this Sunday, Fernández said that the Fuerza del Pueblo party will participate next Tuesday in a meeting called for all parties with the full JCE.

“We are going to address several issues, one will have to do with the health protocol to be applied on election day on July 5, I would like to tell you that one of the suggestions to avoid the crowds of voters is that men vote in the morning and women can do it in the afternoon, there is already an experience in that regard, now necessity forces voters to segregate and prevent a number of voters from crowding, “said the former president of the Republic.

Also among the topics they are going to suggest is how to protect the personnel of the Central Electoral Board to work on July 5.

“Another will be voting abroad, because if the idea persists in the United States that suffrage cannot be exercised in its territory, then it forces us to rethink what voting will be like abroad … The exercise of suffrage abroad will depend of the level of control that the coronavirus has, now if that problem persists how we can do it is the great debate and the great reflection that has to be carried out, ”said Fernández.

Leonel Fernández led a press conference this Sunday morning to discuss the measures that should be taken in the face of the incidents of the fire at the Duquesa landfill.

Last Tuesday, April 28, at approximately 3:00 in the afternoon, a fire started in the landfill that has caused smoke so far in much of Santo Domingo.
