Elder Ring was voted game of the year by Game prizes 2022, an event known as the “Oscars of Games”. The result was announced this Thursday evening (8), during a ceremony held at the Microsoft Threater in Los Angeles, in the United States. They also fought for Game of the Year (GOTY) A Plague Tale: Requiem, God of War: Ragnarok, Horizon: Forbidden West, Stray and Xenoblade Chronicles 3. In addition to the main award, Elden Ring still won in the categories “Best Director”, “Best Art Direction” and “Best RPG”. God of War: Ragnarok was the most awarded game of the night, with six trophies in total, but the GOT finished with the success of From software.

The Brazilians also had reason to celebrate tonight. First STRONG (Valorous) was announced as the winner in the “Best Esports Team” category, a very motivated award for his title in Valorant Champions 2022🇧🇷 Matheus “bzkA” Tarasconi, coach of Value, also won the award in the “Best Esports Coach of the Year” category. The TGA 2022 had more than 30 categories and had the TechAll as part of the expert jury. Other choices have also stood out at the awards, such as The Legend of Zelda: Kingdom Tears, which won in the “Most Anticipated Game” category. Stray received both indie game awards, and Final Fantasy XIV finished the night with two awards in addition to “Best Community Support” and “Best Continuing Game.” It still stands out League of Legendswinning “Best Adaptation”, with the Arcane series, and “Best Esports Event”, thanks to the success of LOL World 2022.

However, the night truly belonged to the duo who had the favoritism to take on GOTY. God of War: Ragnarok collected trophies during the ceremony, including “Best Performance” for Christopher Judge and Best Score/Music for Bear McCreary. One might even expect the title to win ‘Game of the Year’ in 2022, but Elden Ring has won this edition of the gaming Oscar. See in the table below all the winners of The Game Awards 2022.
