Elche mobilizes more than three thousand people in its pink tide against breast cancer

Solidarity with people who suffer from breast cancer has once again flooded Elche in a new pink tide, which has recovered with its family and festive character after last year it was carried out exclusively virtually due to the pandemic. The Paseo de la Estación this morning hosted the XVII edition of the solidarity march, organized by the Association of Women Affected by Breast Cancer of Elche and the Region (AMACMEC) in collaboration with the City Council, with the participation of more than three hundred people who have completed a four-kilometer course.

In this sporting event with a marked social character, the mayor, Carlos González, and the councilors of Sports, Vicente Alberola; Social Rights, Mariano Valera; of Citizen Security, Ramón Abad; of Tourism, Carles Molina; of Education, María José Martínez; Senior Policy, Puri Vives; of Mobility, Esther Díez, and of Commerce, Feliz Sànchez.

The head of the Government Team, accompanied by the president of AMACMEC, Manuela Agulló, has recognized the great work carried out by the association’s board of directors and thanked the solidarity of all those who have participated to contribute to this good cause.

For his part, Mariano Valera, has encouraged citizens to continue collaborating in this type of initiative in order to raise funds to help the group of women who suffer from this disease.

This year, in addition to retaking the test in person, the virtual career option has also been carried out with which there have been some 700 registrations.
