Step- Given the drop in daily infections of Covid-19, and in accordance with the curfew that is still in effect in El Paso, local authorities announced the expansion of one hour to the orderly closure of restaurants in the town, who will now be able to close their restaurants. doors at 10 at night, it transpired Tuesday afternoon.

“I spoke with Mayor Dee Margo and we discussed that indeed the number of infections has dropped, and in reality this measure coincides with the curfew,” said Ricardo Samaniego, El Paso County judge.

Thus, the Sixth Local Emergency Order, which establishes a curfew from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., remains in full force and effect, even after health personnel from the city’s University Medical Center received the Covid-19 vaccine.

“Because we have seen a downward trend in cases even after Thanksgiving, we opted to extend food service by one hour,” said Mayor Margo.

Previously, restaurants were supposed to end dinner service at 9 PM, but according to the amendment all food services in restaurants, which include outdoor service, as well as in patios or similar areas, will now end at 10 pm.

It was reported that home delivery or take out service may be offered after 10 PM.

The restaurants will be able to resume their services from 6 AM, observing hygiene measures and healthy distance.

“The pandemic is not over, so we must remain vigilant as we enter the winter holidays to limit the need to implement more restrictions,” said Mayor Margo, in agreement with Judge Samaniego.

“The arrival of the vaccine is going to be very important, but we don’t want people to think that we are out of the problem. It is something very dangerous that people begin to lower their guard, we have the vaccine but we must be very careful in how we handle ourselves, ”said Judge Samaniego, who said that he will publish the amendment to the order this Wednesday.
