La Taverna del mar, in S’Agaró, Girona
Its opening in 1936 brought with it the visit of personalities from half the world. Its lounges (and spectacular views) served as the backdrop for some scenes from Mister Arkadin, shot in 1954 by Orson Welles, a stalwart of the Costa Brava. Ca la Maria, Llagostera
The chef Martí Rosàs and the head of the room (and pastry chef) María Hernández joined their paths in the prestigious Lasarte de Martín Berasategui and in 2002 they created Ca La Maria. This old-fashioned decorated farmhouse measures its cuisine based on sustainability with examples such as its own garden and raw material from kilometer zero, sustainable fishing and organic meat.
