The General Directorate of Health (DGS) revealed this Wednesday that, in the last 24 hours, eight new suspected cases of infection by the new coronavirus in Portugal have emerged.
So far, a total of 25 suspected cases have been registered in the country, 18 of which have a negative result. “All citizens are from northern Italy, six are female and two are male; two are children “, details the DGS, in a statement.
Five are at the São João hospital (Porto), two at the Curry Cabral hospital (Lisbon) and one at the Dona Estefânia hospital (Lisbon).
DGS further stresses that, “according to current information, the risk to public health in Portugal is considered moderate to high“, so the epidemiological assessment of the national situation will be made,” daily, at 6 pm “.
