This Wednesday, the FPS Public Health announced that 23 people had coronavirus in Belgium. This number is likely to increase during the next review this Thursday morning. And if, in Wallonia, the cases are relatively isolated (maximum one or two person (s) per region), the situation is very different in Wavelgem, in West Flanders.
There, as Laatste Nieuws explains, a whole family tested positive for the virus. Eight people who returned from a ski trip to northern Italy have all contracted the coronavirus. Parents, their children, and their respective partners are all fine, even if they have little symptoms here and there.
It was on her return to Belgium at the end of the Carnival holidays that one of the members of the group, who did not feel well, went to a doctor. And the verdict was clear. Both she and the other seven members of her family were infected with the virus.
They were quarantined for fourteen days.
