Eight Bernese and Lucerne communities around the Napf have founded the Napfbergland association. They want to make the living and economic area around the Napf more active through closer cooperation.
According to a statement on Tuesday, the eight municipalities are striving to increase added value through closer regional cooperation in various areas. They also want more sustainable tourism.
The association includes the communities of Eriswil BE, Hergiswil bei Willisau LU, Luthern LU, Menznau LU, Romoos LU, Sumiswald BE, Trub BE and Willisau LU. The office is managed by Jahn Flückiger, the deputy community administrator of Sumiswald.
Around two years ago, a group of local councilors from the Napf area began to work out a common target. Last July, the municipalities announced that the foundation of the association was imminent. The federal government supported the project with CHF 30,000 from the new regional policy (NRP).
