Egypt’s ambassador to Argentina participates in the funeral ceremony for Maradona

Ambassador Amin Malika, Egypt’s ambassador to Argentina, yesterday, accompanied by heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the Argentine Republic, participated in the funeral ceremony for football player “Diego Armando Maradona”, which was held at the Argentine Presidential Palace, and was attended by the President of the Argentine Republic, Alberto Fernandez, and the Vice President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, the Prime Minister, Santiago Cafiero, and a number of ministers and officials.

The Egyptian Embassy in Buenos Aires sent a cable of condolences to the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in which it expressed its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and to the Argentine people.

It is noteworthy that “Maradona” passed away at the age of sixty years after suffering a heart attack, and the Argentine Republic declared official mourning for a period of three days.

Today witnessed hundreds of thousands of citizens heading to the presidential palace to participate in the farewell ceremony for the Argentine football legend.
