Mikhail Efremov, sentenced to eight years for a fatal road accident in the center of Moscow, at a meeting with members of the Public Monitoring Commission (POC) announced the need to create a Russian prison theater. This was reported to RBC by the executive secretary of the Moscow POC Alexei Melnikov.

“He expressed such an initiative that it would be nice to create such a theater. This is just an initiative, no one has applied anywhere yet, ”Melnikov said.

The secretary of the Moscow POC said that now Efremov is going to court, but as soon as these procedural moments are over, it is quite possible to implement his initiative.

“In the economic units in the colonies there are opportunities for creative, including self-realization, there are no problems with that,” Melnikov said. However, he noted that so far there has not been such a thing that “some kind of direct theater” has been created.
