Efremov made a statement about Putin

Actor Mikhail Efremov, having caused a drunk accident in which a person died, he addressed the public through his lawyer Elman Pashayev.

Efremov said that his case was not political (no matter what the journalists wrote), no one asked him to drive drunk, nor the president Vladimir Putinno one else. He himself has no relation to the opposition, because it is precisely the government that “feeds” creative people, moreover, Putin has done a lot for the development of culture; everyone remembers how it used to be in decline. Speeches in Citizen Poet is a job for which money is paid, nothing more.

The artist emphasized that he was a clown, an artist, and not an oppositionist. For reading poetry (and exactly the same poems were written about Gorbachev and Yeltsin) he received royalties. Efremov also commented on the vote for amendments to the Constitution. He said that he did not understand the political part of the amendments, and approved social support measures, MK reports.

On the evening of June 8, on Smolenskaya Square, drunk Efremov flew at high speed into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with Lada van. The driver, who was driving the van, died in the hospital a few hours later. The actor faces 5 to 12 years in prison. Now he is under house arrest. Efremov himself has repeatedly stated that he pleads guilty and is ready to help the family of Sergei Zakharov. Moreover, he is even ready to adopt the children of the deceased driver.
