Education LOMLOE: The Philosophy teachers, against the Celaá Law not including Ethics in 4th ESO | Morning be

This week the Congress has given the green light to LOMLOE, better known as Celaá Law, which will be, as soon as the Senate process passes, the eighth educational law of our democracy. The norm makes the subject of History of Philosophy compulsory in 2nd year of high school, which became optional with the LOMCE, the law approved by the PP with Minister Wert. However, does not recover the subject of Ethics in 4th of ESO and replaces it with a subject that will be called Civic and Ethical Values.

Something that Philosophy professors have not liked for two reasons. In the first place, because they consider that Ethics is irreplaceable; second, because they consider that the Government does not comply with the agreement approved by the Education Commission which urged to recover the three-year cycle of this matter.

In Morning SER we have spoken with Esperanza R. Guillén, president of the Education Commission of the Spanish Philosophy Network, and with Olga García-Mochales, of the Student Platform in Defense of Ethics.
