Halle (dpa / sa) – The demand for professional support in raising children in Saxony-Anhalt is increasing. In 2019, around 28,700 educational aids were used, the State Statistical Office in Halle announced on Monday. Accordingly, the number of such services has increased for the fifth year in a row. Almost 14,200 help and advice were started last year. More than 40 percent of the support came from counseling, followed by upbringing in homes and socio-educational family help.
Almost every second person affected who was entitled to help in 2019 lived with a single parent. In almost six percent of those seeking help, the parents were unknown or deceased, according to the state office.
