Education: digital skills for volunteers

What the Stellwerk volunteer center is offering in February. Places are limited

With the digital change, new forms of cooperation and communication have emerged. Associations, initiatives and voluntarily committed citizens can benefit from this. But this also brings new challenges.

Where do you start when it comes to being confident and safe on the Internet? What do I have to consider when posting photos from the summer festival on social media channels? How can I communicate with my members in a data-saving manner? What do I have to consider when fundraising online? What is the imprint of my club website?

The so-called digital neighborhood (Dina) deals with the most important questions of digitization in volunteering.

The Digital Neighborhood is now also supporting on-site regionally in workshops and additional information materials specially designed for civic engagement. The volunteer center in the district of Günzburg, Stellwerk, will be opened as one of 50 Dina meetings nationwide – with the district’s education office as a cooperation partner. “As Dina-Treff, we are pleased to offer our volunteers in associations and initiatives a wide range of topics relating to digital opportunities and safe use of the internet,” explains Inge Schmidt, head of the volunteer center.

It starts on February 12th. At 3 p.m., the meeting of the digital neighborhood in the district of Günzburg will open with greetings from District Administrator Hans Reichhart. In the two-hour online seminar “Social Networks” that follows directly, the participants deal with various social networks and social media strategies.

The focus is on the benefits of the networks for clubs, addressing target groups, protecting privacy and the amount of work to be planned.

Since there are only 25 places available for the entire district, it is worthwhile for those interested to register by February 8th at the latest. (zg)
