Transdev Nîmes Mobilité employees are worried. Worried because for several months they have been the target of little idiots who, like a new fashion, are throwing stones on the buses which most likely transport their families. Faced with these repeated acts, the answers are still waiting. Franck Proust, the president of Nîmes métropole in charge of transport in the Nîmes agglomeration, did what he could within the framework of the prerogatives which are his: to tour the districts, to meet the actors and to sensitize the services of the ‘State to act as quickly as possible. The delegatee for his part found only one solution: to divert the buses from the districts concerned. Unfortunately, the problem remains. Again this weekend, every evening, the buses were graveled. And the first to drink are the inhabitants. How to do ? Put a policeman on each bus all day? Add more cameras? Solutions as ineffective as each other and which will not solve anything. First, because the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, does not seem willing to move a finger. He announced the arrival of 13 more police officers, but no one has heard from since. As for video surveillance, it is useful today inside buses. Except that the stones are being thrown from the outside … In the meantime, the employees of Transdev Nîmes Mobilité must be patient. The Titanic sinks and the musicians continue to play despite the risks. Until when ? Until the drama? The section of the CGT union of the company recently asked its management for an interview regarding this social alarm. The trade unionists regret this Monday evening that the director does not have time to receive them. If even the management of the company does not have time to listen to their team … They may be busy doing the accounts. Between covid 19 and the slowdown in its activity for a year, it must quickly find the financial means to balance the contract signed with Nîmes metropolis at the time when Yvan Lachaud was managing it. A contract which made it possible to save 10 million per year for the community. Normal by calling on temporary workers in number, by renegotiating the employment contracts of new hires and by removing a good part of the mediators. The only solution might now be simply to stop the buses … No more buses, no more drivers, no more stones. And more problems?
