Edition Thionville – Hayange | The old changing rooms of the football club burned down

A fire devastated the old changing rooms of the Russange football club on the night of Monday to Tuesday. The alert was given shortly after 11 p.m. When the fire brigade arrived, the fire had already spread and the flames pierced the roof of the building.

These locker rooms have been abandoned and empty, without electricity, for several years. However, the rescue work was complicated by the presence of three gas bottles still stored at the entrance to the premises.

A dozen firefighters from the Audun-le-Tiche rescue center were mobilized, under the orders of Lt. Djebar, guard officer. Two spears were deployed to control the flames.

The origin of the fire is unknown for the time being, but the emergency services and elected officials present, Gilbert Kaiser, mayor, and his successor, Jean-Jacques Bourson, could see that the doors of the premises had been broken.

Even if the building was ultimately intended to be demolished, the damage caused by the fire will represent an additional cost for cleaning and securing the site. The town has lodged a complaint.
