Edition Thionville – Hayange | The City of Yutz at the rendezvous of solidarity

Seniors

The City of Yutz provides food aid every week and offers shopping baskets for all those who request it. The CCut de Yutz has put in place weekly vigilance phone calls, listening to people over 75 and vulnerable people. “These calls are managed with elected officials, the CCAS team and volunteers. This moment of listening, sharing and bonding is appreciated by all, “said Mayor Bruno Sapin.

Services

Different services are offered: basic food parcels for two weeks (65 euros for a single person and 100 euros for a couple), recovering medication if necessary, shopping on demand for specific needs (diet – illness) or specific audiences (single-parent family, for example). Anyone can call the CCAS on 03 82 82 26 15 or 06 35 42 64 70 for any administrative or social assistance question. Volunteers can go shopping: bread, basic necessities (food and hygiene) and pharmacy when the reference pharmacy does not make home delivery. The City has reopened the weekly market since Friday, April 17. And, in conjunction with the Portes de France-Thionville urban community, it has reopened its recycling center for the sole collection of green waste.

The next food distribution organized by Secours populaire will take place on April 25 morning. The City provides a driver and a van to collect food at the Moselle food bank. Appointments are given to beneficiaries to avoid contact. The CCAS has made masks available to volunteers through the Aidod association, which has made washable masks. This aid is complementary to the food aid, in the form of service vouchers, which the CCAS grants every week.

Various aids

“The City, from the first day of confinement, organized the reception of caregivers’ children in the Schuman school, in collaboration with the academy inspectorate,” recalls Bruno Sapin. It has also set up a waiting room for Medinf’57 in the form of a large tent in front of the Sainte-Elisabeth clinic. And it was still the municipality that organized the waiting system to allow drive samples to be taken at the Saint-Nicolas laboratory.

“The commitment of the volunteers is exemplary and to be congratulated during this difficult period for all residents and in particular for people in difficulty. The Yussoises and the Yussois are united and I thank them ”, still appreciates the mayor Bruno Sapin.-
