As in these huts found along the southern routes, in Volstroff there are strawberries, asparagus, salads and artichokes, seasonal products at very attractive prices. Marie-Paule, Brigitte, Dominique, Lydie, Jean-Michel run the stand every day from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. It works very well, we sell up to 50 kg of strawberries and 30 kg of asparagus per day. Customers from and around Volstroff, Guénange, and even Metz.
The stand will close on June 15, but this surge of solidarity was not a one-way street. It will have benefited the three stakeholders, the Foetz on the one hand, Les Bénévol’stroff and the footballers of AS Volstroff on the other since these two associations take a small percentage to balance their budgets. The lucrative events for them, the Music Festival and Pentecost tournaments as well as the Belote competitions, have been abolished, but not the repayment of loans for the purchase of the marquee in particular.
In short, a superb example of solidarity, of generosity where everyone (re) finds its account. What if this initiative took root here or elsewhere?
