Edition Metz and agglomeration | CHR Metz-Thionville feels cheated by the state

When the fairgrounds offered them love apples, the carers of the CHR Metz-Thionville did not imagine the degree of disappointment that would undermine them a few weeks later. Severe flip side. They insured day and night, put back their days off, changed their service when asked, responded to missions that were in a situation they had never known. They were applauded every evening by the entire population. Erected as heroes.

Since last week, exactly May 7, the day of the Supervisory Board, they have been breathless. And for good reason: the envelopes to cover the costs due to the Covid-19 crisis were distributed by the State: the CHU of Strasbourg receives more than 9M €, that of Nancy more than 5M € and the CHR Metz Thionville discovers an envelope € 2.4 million. “After the shock, anger” dominates.

“The intensity of the crisis was almost as strong in Moselle as in Mulhouse. The State can only grant 10% of the allocations planned for hospitals in the Grand Est! The State can only grant a tiny part to the CHR, compared to other establishments in the Grand Est! The State cannot ignore the ratio between resuscitation beds and the population pool already preexisting the crisis! The CHR, in addition to its coordination and pilot missions, welcomes patients from the Longwy and Briey basins, as well as Pont-à-Mousson ”,… protested Clarisse Mattel and Stéphanie Robert, respectively secretary and assistant secretary of the union Mict-CGT of the establishment.

A request for equity

Dominique Gros, mayor of Metz and chairman of the supervisory board, did not appreciate this poor financial distribution either. He considers “insulting for the Moselle that the Parisian technocrats distribute the financial envelopes in this way while all the Moselle actors were at work and in difficult conditions”. An opinion shared by the president of the medical commission of establishment of the CHR, Khalifé Khalifé who deplores that the “Moselle does not exist in the eyes of Parisians”.

The two men asked the new director of the Regional Health Agency, Marie-Ange Desailly-Chanson, for explanations, asking her to correct the situation. The latter would have assured that a second envelope of 28M € would be allocated and that it would ensure the restoration of equity. Dominique Gros, like Khalifé Khalifé, say they are “confident” As for the general manager of the CHR, Marie-Odile Saillard, she did not wish to comment on this information.
