MusicEd Sheeran (30) will release a new album soon. The record is called ‘=’, pronounced ‘equals’, and will be released on October 29.

On Instagram, the singer writes that the album will be about love, loss, resilience and fatherhood. It contains fourteen songs, including the hit ‘Bad Habits’.

“’=’ is a very personal record that means a lot to me. My life has changed a lot in recent years,” said Sheeran, who became a father to daughter Lyra Antarctica in September last year. “I can’t wait to share the next chapter with you,” said the singer.

Sheeran sings about love in the songs ‘The Joker And The Queen’, ‘First Times’ and ‘2step’. ‘Visiting Hours’ is about the loss of his good friend Michael and ‘Can’t Stop The Rain’ is about resilience. ‘Sandman’ and ‘Leave Your Life’ are about fatherhood and in ‘Tides’ Sheeran reflects on his career.

‘= ‘is the fourth volume in Sheeran’s album series with symbolic characters as its title. He previously released the popular albums ‘+’, ‘X’ and ‘%’.
