The Paris Bourse ended sharply down 0.81% on Tuesday, as concerns over the new variant of the coronavirus, Omicron, and the risks it could pose to the economy dominated the session. The flagship CAC 40 index fell 55.09 points to 6721.16 points the day after a rebound of 0.54% which followed a big air gap on Friday (-4.75%).

The share of the agri-food group Danone lost 4.31% to 51.99 euros, finishing at the bottom of the CAC 40. Values linked to consumption were also neglected, like Carrefour (-3.63% to 14.62 euros), Casino (-0.40% to 19.99 euros) or the shopping center giant URW (-3% to 58.20 euros).
