Economic stimulus package: Federal government announces hydrogen era

EIt is not often that politics is pounding a whole new industrial sector. But when it comes to overcoming the economic consequences of the corona pandemic, the federal government can no longer be stopped by the usual misgivings: With around nine billion euros, a hydrogen industry is now to be set up in Germany.

The coalition decision by the Union and the SPD formulated the highest ambitions: “The aim should be to make Germany the world’s supplier of state-of-the-art hydrogen technology.” The plan has what it takes to solve several problems related to the energy transition.
