Echinger district of Günzenhausen:Bürgersaal could be too loud

The planning for the new Günzenhausen Citizens’ Hall in the center of the village is burdened with an enormous mortgage right from the start. A noise protection report by the community had raised “considerable concerns” about the location, reported Mayor Sebastian Thaler in the local council. An evening operation in the new hall could be similarly limited as it is currently in the Bürgersaal Dietersheim, where only ten events are allowed annually.

On the one hand, the hall would be in what feels like the center of the village, next to the church and the inn. On the other hand, there is a purely residential area in terms of building law, which enjoys the greatest protection beyond hospital and sanatorium facilities in terms of noise emissions. The expertise, which has not yet been evaluated in detail in the town hall, sees a hall operation during the day without hesitation, but in the evening events can only be approved as special events, in limited numbers. So far, all events in the village had taken place in the hall of the restaurant, which is further away from the residential area and enjoyed grandfathering. As a replacement for the now abandoned hall, a citizens’ hall was to be created in the new fire station. This met with bitter resistance from the Günzenhausen clubs. They insisted on the solution in the village center and finally convinced the local council. The planning is now just starting with the first preparatory steps, such as the necessary site assessment.
