ECB Allocates 14.282 Billion Euros in 49-Day LTRO | 05.05.20

FRANKFURT (Dow Jones) – Demand for longer-term liquidity from the European Central Bank (ECB) decreased significantly at the eighth of the long-term tenders (LTRO) launched in early March. According to the ECB, 14.282 (36.657) billion euros were allocated to a refinancing transaction with a term of 49 (previously: 56) days. This served the demand from 62 (74) banks. The interest corresponds to the average deposit interest prevailing during the term.

The new LTROs have been issued weekly since March 17 and until June and are then all due on June 24. The funds raised as part of the LTRO can be rolled into the forthcoming fourth tender of the third series of targeted long-term refinancing transactions (TLTRO3).
