Ebay warns against people selling PS5 photos

With a worldwide shortage of PlayStation 5 consoles, there are plenty of people who have managed to get several consoles to resell them for a higher price. On the one hand it is smart to earn extra pocket money, on the other hand it is sad for anyone who has now taken a wrong turn and has to wait for more stock to come.

Although there is nothing wrong with reselling the PlayStation 5 in itself, it is allowed, there are also people who go a step further. On Ebay, photos are offered of the PlayStation 5, where people have the impression that it is the console itself. After payment, however, they will not receive the console, but photos will be sent.

It is of course pure deception and Ebay will take action against it, writes Eurogamer who has received a statement from the sales site.

“We condemn these opportunistic sellers who are attempting to mislead other users. We are in the process of removing all listings for photos of PS5s from our marketplace and will be taking appropriate action against the sellers. For any purchase, but especially highly priced or in-demand items, buyers should exercise caution and thoroughly read the listing description. Buyers who receive an item which is not as described are entitled to a refund via our eBay Money Back Guarantee, provided they completed the transaction on the eBay platform.”

This of course also serves as a warning, so if you are scouring Ebay for a great deal, you now know that you should not fall for a very attractive deal with your eyes open. Chances are that you will be cheated.
