Earthquake in Turkey of magnitude 7.8 occurred at night

It is reported that as a result of the incident there is destruction in several provinces, there were several aftershocks with a magnitude above 6 points. 10 minutes after the first shock, another one was recorded – a magnitude of 6.3.

Tremors were felt in several regions – Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Gaziantep, Kayseri, Mersin, Trabzon, Urfa. Destruction was recorded in four provinces: Kahramanmaras, Malatya, Sanliurfa and Gaziantep. No casualties have been reported yet. At least one eight-story building was completely destroyed as a result of the earthquake.

The earthquake was felt in other countries. Tremors have been reported in Lebanon and Syria.

It is also known that the earthquake destroyed 16 houses in the city of Sanliurfa, and a large fire broke out in the province of Kahramanmaras.

The Turkish Ministry of Emergency Situations is preparing assistance to the affected provinces. There is no official data on the number of wounded and dead yet. The search for people under the rubble continues.
