Earthquake in Turkey and Syria: a collection of donations launched by a greengrocer on the markets of Montluçon and around

Installed on a small table in front of the tangerines and watercress, the urn was available to customers of Nurullah Sahin, the primeur Soleil du midi, at the Montluçon market (Allier), this Saturday morning of February 18.

Information that circulated thanks to the local media

Of Turkish origin, the merchant is mobilizing to collect donations to help the Turkish and Syrian victims of the violent earthquake of February 6th. “It’s going pretty well,” notes Nurullah Sahin with a smile.

“People saw the little article in the newspaper The mountain or heard me on the local radios. I’ve had calls from people wanting to bring me checks. »

” A good idea “

In front of the large stall on the Place de la Poterie, in the medieval town of Montluçon, customers approve of the initiative. “It’s a good idea”, soberly summarizes one of them.

“In Montluçon, we know a lot of people more or less linked to Turkey. It is important to be united. »

And Marie-France to continue: “We are not immune to a disaster. If that happened to us, we would be happy for other countries to help us,” she adds.
