The strange structure that has been visible in the sky since the 1960s can be attributed to the giant magnetic tunnel that circles the earth and covers the solar system along with some of the nearby stars. A University of Toronto study, Canada, found that structures known as the north polar spur and the Milky Way’s fan region, can be connected by an extensive system of magnetic filaments. The researchers calculated that the structure lies about 350 light-years from the solar system, which West says is “the equivalent distance between Toronto and Vancouver that travels two trillion times”. 1965, “from the dawn of radio astronomy”. According to West, the authors of the paper speculate that “[…] Polarized radio signals can come from our perspective of the local arm of the galaxy, from within. He adds that astronomers have known about the Arctic Spur and the Fan Region for decades, but most scientific theory focuses on these structures individually. West insists that he and his colleagues believe they are the first to link the structures as a unit, perhaps discoveries regarding further research are only a matter of time.

The strange structure seen in the sky since the 1960s could be linked to a massive magnetic tunnel that circles the earth and covers the solar system along with several nearby stars, new research has revealed.
–
The study, conducted by a group of astronomers from the University of Toronto, Canada, found that structures known as the north polar spur and the Milky Way’s fan region could be connected by an extensive system of magnetic filaments.
–
Jennifer West, a researcher at the Dunlap Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics at the University of Toronto, said in a press release, “If we looked up at the sky, we would see these tunnel-like structures in almost every direction we looked. is seeing – that is, when we look at the Eye which can see radio light”.
–
–
–
The researchers calculated that the structure is about 350 light-years from the solar system, which West says is “the equivalent distance of two trillion times between Toronto and Vancouver.”

Earth’s magnetic field could reverse due to ancient planetary remains, scientists warn
–
–
He explained that one of the study’s co-authors, Tom Landecker, told him several years ago about a relevant paper from 1965, “from the dawn of radio astronomy”.
–
According to West, the authors of the paper speculate that “[…] Polarized radio signals can emerge from our perspective of the local arm of the galaxy from within.”
–
“This paper inspired me to develop this idea and relate my model to the much improved data that our telescopes provide today,” the scientist stressed.
–
–
He added that astronomers have known about the arctic spur and fan region for decades, but most scientific theory focuses on these structures individually. West insists that he and his colleagues believe they will be the first researchers to link the structure as a whole.
–
“I like to imagine that these structures are everywhere when we look up at the night sky,” he said, expressing hope that further discoveries related to the study might just be a matter of time.
