EADaily: Ukrainian Epee Fencers Prohibited from Posing with Anti-Russian Banner in China

The organizers of the Fencing World Cup stage, held in Nanjing, China, did not allow Ukrainian athletes to unfold an anti-Russian poster and take a picture against its background. About today, March 27, reports the telegram channel “Typical Odessa”.

Ukrainian epee fencer Darya Varfolomeyeva tried to unfold a poster against the admission of Russian athletes to international competitions and take a picture in front of it. Tournament organizers promptly stopped this action.

On March 10, the Congress of the International Fencing Federation (FIE) decided to allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to take part in international competitions. The decision of the congress should come into force in the second half of April 2023.
