This means that everyone had an average of 19,158 euros in their accounts “It is important that young savers can continue to trust our banks and the legal security mechanisms,” said Blümel.

The finance minister also asked the representatives of the credit institutions and the deposit insurance authorities to provide the greatest possible goodwill when it comes to more complex considerations in individual cases. “Every minor gets his or her right, that’s what Einlagensicherung Austria stands for. Every case, especially with minors, is carefully checked. If you have any questions, the employees of the deposit guarantee are available both on site in the Zemendorf branch and via the tried and tested channels,” added the chairman of the ESA supervisory board, Franz Rudorfer.
