Dynamo Dresden: Kevin Broll is back – “Keep the ball low, stay humble and take momentum from victories”

Kevin Broll is a dynamo again! The keeper should become an established regular, even if he didn’t make any claims in his first interview.

TAG24: Mr. Broll, can you briefly outline how the return came about?

Kevin Broll: “My agent called me on Friday and said he had a club for me that I could sign on Tuesday. When he said it was SG Dynamo Dresden, I said yes without hesitation.”

TAG24: Would you have thought to be back here after only half a year?

Sprout: “Due to my girlfriend’s pregnancy, we made a conscious decision to stay in Poland for just one year. The fact that this has happened now makes us and the whole family happy. Because a lot of things are easier now. My girlfriend can do a lot more independently without the language barrier and I don’t have to miss anything because I’m no longer needed as a translator. It’s also much easier to communicate with the paediatricians.”

TAG24: What remains of half a year in Poland?

Sprout: “It was an experience, but the chapter is definitely closed for me. It was intense, but I’m happy to be back.”

TAG24: What are your expectations for coming back?

Sprout: “I’m very humble about the whole thing and I’m fully focused. The first few days I have to see how I get on. I was welcomed by everyone and I’m adapting first. Then we’ll see.”

TAG24: But surely you want to play on Saturday?

Sprout: “Of course, but everyone wants that. That’s why I make sure that I do good sessions and keep my feet on the ground. Of course I’m in the mood, but I don’t want to spit big tones. I’m new and in the end it’s the decision of the coaching teams.”

TAG24: Have you dealt with the situation here before?

Sprout: “Competition is common everywhere. Of course I’ve watched a few games and I still have a few buddies in the club and in the league. But the goalkeeper situation is the same everywhere, whether in Zabrze or in Dresden. In the end you have to always punch through.”

Is it difficult to get used to at Dynamo Dresden?

TAG24: Getting used to it shouldn’t be that complicated…

Sprout: “No, but there are new players and faces. You have to get to know each other first, get a feel for it. But I’ve been playing football for a few years and I know it’s not that difficult.”

TAG24: In the summer they wanted to 2. Bundesliga stay, so is promotion the goal again?

Sprout: “After winning two games you should keep the ball low, stay humble and take the momentum from the wins. I’m not the person to talk about goals like that.”

TAG24: You have a year and a half contract. Do you also make everything else dependent on sporting development?

Sprout: “It doesn’t mean anything. I’m happy about the year and a half and then we’ll see what’s next. Of course that also has something to do with the 2nd Bundesliga, but you can talk about ten clubs here in the league that have these requirements. Dynamo certainly has them too. It’s a new beginning for all of us.”
