Unlucky run! Chris Löwe (33) had extended his contract with Dynamo Dresden until 2023, when nobody thought that relegation in the 2nd division could be in danger.
Four months later, the left-back with the black and yellow now has his back to the wall. Would he do the 3rd division again with Dynamo after relegation in 2020?
Leo: “To be honest, I don’t worry about it because it’s basically still in our own hands. I’m convinced that we have enough quality and at the end of the day we’re able to hold on to this league.”
Where does he get the conviction from?
“Because the mentality is different than two years ago,” explains the defender. “Everyone wants it, everyone does it. While it sounds silly when you don’t win 13 games, not much went wrong. Little things are missing. It takes that one moment. And I know it’s not far away.”
For Löwe it is now the sixth season in which promotion or relegation is at stake.
“It always kind of defined my career in the end,” he says. “I still prefer it that way than if I had finished eighth six times.”
And then Löwe adds: “I would have liked to have done without the descents. But I’m confident that we can avoid that this year…”
