Dynamo Dresden celebrates the season’s first away win

Dynamo Dresden celebrated its first away win of the current season in the 2nd Bundesliga. The bottom of the table won 2-1 (0-0) at Jahn Regensburg, it was the twelfth away game Dynamos in this season. Dresden reduced the gap to the relegation place to three points. Erik Wekesser (63. minute) gave the hosts the lead, but Patrick Schmidt (69.) and Simon Makienok (77.) turned the encounter with their goals.

The hosts dictated to 11309 spectators from the start and pushed Dresden on the defensive. But Dynamo goalkeeper Kevin Broll saved his team from behind and parried strongly against Andreas Albers (14th) and Benedikt Saller (25th).

The Saxons intensified their offensive efforts in the second round, but Regensburg scored the opening goal. But the guests were not impressed. After heavy preliminary work by Brian Hamalainen, Schmidt equalized. Makienok ensured the Dresden victory by dust.

1. FC Nürnberg meanwhile took a big step away from the relegation zone. Patrick Erras (74.) scored after a mistake by KSC goalkeeper Benjamin Uphoff in front of 14.450 spectators in the game park stadium. While the FCN initially moved into the midfield of the table, the KSC remains in third-last place after the next setback under coach Christian Eichner.

The Francs were playfully superior to the hosts most of the time. Nevertheless, the committed KSC made the game balanced over long distances – until Uphoff failed. After a corner, the keeper slipped the ball through his hands so that the Erras lurking on the long post could head him into the empty goal.
