Christopher Nolan Declares dwayne Johnson‘s Performance in ‘The Smashing Machine‘ the Standout of 2025
Los Angeles, CA – director Christopher Nolan has lauded Dwayne Johnson’s performance in A24’s “The Smashing Machine” as the best of 2025, praising the film as a ”remarkable adn radical piece of work.” The unexpected acclaim from the acclaimed filmmaker elevates Johnson’s dramatic turn and positions the sports drama as a critical success poised for lasting recognition.
Nolan’s comments came during a recent discussion where he playfully teased Johnson about reportedly using time on Nolan’s set to solicit cast members for ”The Smashing Machine.” The film, which showcases Johnson in a departure from his typical roles, has quickly garnered attention for its unconventional approach and the actor’s committed performance. The Safdie brothers, known for “Good Time” and “Uncut Gems,” directed the film.
