Dutch Teacher in Dubai Murder Case: ‘No Guilt’ Claims Amid Mounting Evidence

Dubai,⁢ UAE‍ – A 30-year-old Dutch woman is under examination in connection ⁣with the murder of a French national in Dubai, with‌ investigators citing forensic evidence linking her to the ‍crime scene.

Authorities discovered⁢ a blood-covered⁤ footprint under a carpet believed to connect to the suspect,according to the public prosecutor’s office.​ A‌ canvas bearing ⁤the victim’s blood​ was also found at ⁣the home of the suspect in Dubai Marina.

The suspect denies knowledge ​of the items, stating her regular visits to the villa⁢ account ​for her⁣ presence and ⁣disputing forensic interpretations.

Investigators are also ​examining searches on the suspect’s ‌phone, including queries‌ for “calming medicines,” suggesting⁣ thay may⁤ have been⁣ administered to⁢ the‍ victim.⁢ Scratches on her⁤ hands and a ‌bruise on ​her arm are being ⁣analyzed as potentially resulting from a physical​ altercation. ⁣Forensic specialists indicate ⁢the injuries⁣ align with those sustained ​in a fight.

The suspect claims her ⁢skin is sensitive and prone to marking, attributing the scratches to‌ a ⁣pet and⁤ denying the ‍bruise is related to the accusations.

She told ⁢investigators she had been providing English lessons ⁣to the victim for approximately a year and a half, four lessons ⁣per week,⁣ and that thier final lesson ⁢on the day of the incident was extended as he was preparing for a trip.

Her 37-year-old husband ‌told detectives she teaches Spanish and ⁣portuguese, but was unaware she⁢ was tutoring the‌ French‌ national, describing her as “a very friendly⁤ and generous person who is never aggressive.”

The ⁣victim’s 32-year-old girlfriend reportedly told police she suspected a close bond had developed⁤ between the victim and ⁣the suspect.

The suspect’s lawyer released‍ a‌ statement emphasizing the ‌ongoing nature ⁣of the investigation, stating, “It is important ⁣that the legal ⁤process gets its complete course. It ‌would not be appropriate at this stage to make assumptions or to draw conclusions before all evidence has been tested by the⁤ competent judicial authorities.”
