Dutch stabbed to death in Australia during video calling Interior

Steenbeek had a video conversation with an acquaintance when the perpetrator stalked her from behind.

The connection was broken shortly after the fatal attack, the acquaintance immediately called in panic one of the victim’s sons and told that his mother was “in great danger”. He hurried to her house and found his mother’s body on the floor.

He then also found the perpetrator, whom he immediately attacked and seriously injured. He dragged him out of the house, whereupon police alerted the suspect – the 28-year-old Xochil O’N. – immediately arrested.

Other neighbors also witnessed the drama that took place in Heidelberg. They heard the woman shout desperately that the man “now had to leave the house.” Moments later they saw a bleeding man come out, with cuts over his arms.

“Confused Man”

Witnesses have stated that shortly before the attack they saw a confused man in the street who looks like the suspect. For example, neighbors saw him climbing trees and crawling under cars. He also shouted incomprehensible texts about God. Another witness stated that the man ran back and forth and had a “crazy look” in his eyes.

The family of the Dutch has rushed from the Netherlands to Australia for the funeral and to assist the two sons of the victim. Steenbeek worked as a yoga teacher in Heidelberg and was retired.

The suspect of the Skype murder will be brought before him if he is medically capable of doing so. O’N. is in critical condition at the Royal Hospital of Melbourne and is closely monitored by agents. The forensic investigation is still ongoing.
