The Dutch politician Sigrid Kaag (D66) is going to file a complaint against dance teacher and Viruswaarheid figurehead Willem Engel, because he had published part of her address on Twitter. A spokesman for the left-liberal party D66 announced this on Sunday.

Engel, a dance teacher and well-known critic of Dutch corona policy, had posted a photo online showing Kaag’s house number and zip code. The data was not made illegible.
The distribution of that information is extra sensitive because a threatening situation already took place at the house of the future Minister of Finance on Wednesday evening. Then a man with a burning torch appeared and shouted conspiracy slogans.
In the meantime, Engel has removed the image. He also wrote that sharing the photo was “in no way” a “call or incitement to intimidation or violence or threat”. Asked for a response, Engel says he had to remove the photo from Twitter to keep access to his account. According to Algemeen Dagblad, some functions of his account have been restricted for twelve hours.
Engel is best known in our country for the lawsuit he filed against virologist Marc Van Ranst. The Dutchman had summoned Van Ranst directly for defamation because he would have called him a virus denier in a television interview. Van Ranst was acquitted and received compensation of 4,000 euros. The virologist announced that he would transfer the money to Unicef to distribute the COVAX vaccines in developing countries.
